Belgian reimbursement is confusing when you did not grow up with it. Here is what a session costs, what comes back, and how it works for EU officials and internationally insured patients.
First assessment: 130 € (augmented session with instrumented measurement, 30–45 min). Follow-up sessions: 65 € (20–30 min). With a medical prescription, Belgian mutuelles reimburse part of each session (29,14 € for a standard session under INAMI convention rules). EU institution staff (JSIS/RCAM) and privately insured patients are reimbursed by their own scheme on invoice.
Bring a prescription from any doctor or dentist. You pay the session and are reimbursed 29,14 € per standard session; increased rates apply with preferential status (BIM).
No Belgian mutuelle needed: submit the receipt to JSIS, reimbursement typically 80 to 85%. Prescriptions from the Medical Service or any doctor are accepted.
You receive a detailed invoice in English or French with the documentation your insurer requires. Most plans reimburse physiotherapy prescribed by a doctor.
TMJ ultrasound imaging, EMG muscle sensor and jaw movement analysis: a technical platform that sharpens the assessment and produces objective baselines, for you and for your doctor.
Payment per session (card or cash), with a receipt for your mutuelle or insurer. Teleconsultation is reimbursed in Belgium under the same prescription conditions — useful for exercise follow-up between in-person sessions.
Belgian mutuelle: standard reimbursement with a prescription. JSIS (RCAM): typically 80 to 85% on receipt. Private insurance: reimbursement on invoice. You receive proper documentation in every case.
